Barry designs and engineers early-stage products and experimental things

I'm a designer and engineer based in Victoria, BC, and I've been creating digital products and experiences around the world since the late 90s, working across video games, advertising, design consulting, and tech. My practice runs through BFH Labs, our family company.

I focus on two things. The first is early-stage product work, the zero-to-one phase where ideas take shape, constraints are still fluid, and the foundations of a product are being defined. The second is creative programming and experimental applications, exploring new forms of interaction through AI-powered tools, installations, displays, projection mapping, and other experiences that push beyond traditional interfaces.

I design and I ship. That means fewer handoffs, faster loops, and prototypes you can put in front of real people early.
